Recently, the Broomfield Event Center has begun filling its summer bill. The marquee events include a Multiple Sclerosis fund raiser and a Metro North Chamber of Commerce breakfast in July. That’s pretty much it. Last time we checked, the summer is when concert tours roll into town and venues throughout the Front Range are packed. Yet Broomfield’s fancy new arena sits vacant, waiting for minor league hockey and hoops to return—apparently a change in staff is to blame for the quiet schedule. Regardless, it appears the city-owned facility is tanking.
What’s Next: Let’s hope newly anointed GM Gene Felling can pump some life into the arena. Or perhaps Bob Dylan will just opt to swing by.
