So you think the movies at the theater are dreadful, that Hollywood has lost a step, that you could make a better flick than Beverly Hills Chihuahua? Here’s your big break. You can become the next Martin Scorsese. The Shoot Out 24 Hour Filmmaking Festival gives you that chance, but with a twist—you have just 24 hours to make the next Oscar buzz-worthy film. Contestants shoot their flicks from Friday night to Saturday night, and the red carpet rolls out Sunday for the Top 10 Gala Screening at Boulder Theater. Winner takes more than $6,500 in cash and other prizes—or enough coins to sit through 430 more awful movies at the megaplex. Or if you’d rather be the next Roger Ebert, catch the gala screening of the best—just be sure to post the reviews to your blog so your dozen fans can post comments.
