My husband and his mother and I went to see the Colorado Shakespeare Festival’s performance of “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)” last night, and what a riot!
It’s a high-speed, laugh-a-minute condensation of all of Shakespeare’s 37 plays (and all the sonnets!) into two hours of antic fun. The best description I heard was a critic quoted in the pre-performance chat: “If you like Shakespeare, you’ll love it. And if you hate Shakespeare—you’ll love it.”
Catch Complete Works—as well as “Much Ado About Nothing,” “Hamlet,” “Two Gentlemen of Verona,” and “To Kill A Mockingbird”—at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, running now through August 15.
