Chances are—you survived Thanksgiving.
I’m guessing that your house didn’t burn down.
None of your guests got violently ill.
You probably have a fridge full of Tupperware filled with leftovers from the feast and chances are that your living room and guest room are filled with leftovers as well.
Lucky for you, I’ve put together a list of local activities happening this weekend to help entertain your leftover guest and give them a tour of your ‘hood.
But I’m warning you—use this list cautiously. There’s a chance your guests will have so much fun, they’ll nominate your house for the holidays again next year!
Live Music at Oskar Blues | Friday & Saturday | 9 PM | Lyons
You can’t go wrong by taking your guests to Lyons to give ‘em a feel for that small town Colorado vibe, along with a sample Colorado’s craft beer and live music by some of Boulder County’s most popular bands. Check out the Lionel Young Band for some high energy blues music on Friday night, and give your guests a taste of the local bluegrass scene on Saturday night with the Spring Creek Bluegrass band on Saturday night.
Enchanted Evening | Friday | 6-9 PM | Old Town Niwot
Really get in the holiday spirit at the annual Tree Lighting in cozy Old Town Niwot. There will be live music all around town, in-store discounts and refreshments at participating local shops and an appearance by Santa himself. Awesome event for the little ones! and the adults can end the night with a glass of wine in Colterra’s lodge-like dining room.
The Nutcracker | Friday – Sunday | Macky Auditorium
Nothing screams the holidays like taking the family out to see The Nutcracker. The Boulder Ballet will be performing several shows throughout the weekend along with The Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra and the Boulder Children’s Chorale.
Sunday Football | West End Tavern| Boulder
In stereotypical fashion, some of your guests won’t exactly be excited to check out the ballet… so send them off to watch football at the West End Tavern in Boulder. Enjoy some smoked pork specials, a pig roast and tons of drink specials while watching your favorite team play on the West End’s made-for-football-watching big screen tv’s.
