YWCA Boulder County Announces Get Out The Vote Rally To Support Colorado Amendment 79 For Reproductive Rights And Access
Event Will Take Place in Boulder on Saturday, October 19, 2024
BOULDER, CO – September 25, 2024 – YWCA Boulder County announced today that it will be holding a Get Out the Vote Rally from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the corner of 13th St. and Pennsylvania Avenue on University Hill (aka “The Hill”) in Boulder. The event will be a powerful, intergenerational gathering to show support for Colorado’s Amendment 79 ballot measure enshrining reproductive rights and access in Colorado, with the opportunity to get involved, register to vote, and hear from featured speakers about how to support women and girls of all backgrounds and identities in our community.
The rally aims to educate voters about the upcoming Amendment 79 ballot measure and its crucial role in protecting access to reproductive rights for women. The rally will also help mobilize younger voters to ensure everyone has the opportunity to register and has a plan to vote on November 5, 2024.
“Now is the time for everyone to get out and vote, because the future of our reproductive freedom is at stake,” said Debbie Pope, CEO of YWCA Boulder County. “We’re gathering to show our support for Amendment 79 and send a powerful message that we want our health care choices to be protected by law and we hope you’ll join us to mobilize and defend reproductive rights at this important event,” she added.
YWCA Boulder County has hosted previous rallies and marches in Boulder, engaging thousands of community members from Boulder County and surrounding states. Registration is encouraged to help us plan the event: www.ywcaboulder.org/gotv2024. There will also be a poster-making bash taking place at YWCA Boulder County in advance of the rally from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024. Food and supplies will be provided.
Note: The event organizers are dedicated to providing a safe experience for all participants. YWCA Boulder County’s website will have an update if there is unreasonable inclement weather that day.
