WOW! Children’s Museum Invites Community to use Colorado Gives Day to Support All Children’s Right to Joyful Play

[Lafayette, CO] – [November 26, 2024] – WOW! Children’s Museum is excited to announce its participation in this year’s Colorado Gives Day campaign, a day dedicated to fostering charitable giving across the state. Colorado Gives Day offers a unique opportunity for community members to come together in support of WOW!, whose mission is to inspire every child’s learning and curiosity through play. Early giving, which is already underway, allows donors to make a meaningful impact before the official campaign culminates on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.

Donations received during this campaign directly support the Museum’s ability to create inclusive, enriching experiences for children and families, regardless of financial or other barriers to participation. With a theme of Play For All, WOW! provides free and low-cost education programs to Title 1 schools, low-cost family memberships to families on public assistance, special cultural events and celebrations, and monthly Sensory Friendly Playtimes for children with sensory processing disorders.

“All children need joyful play, now more than ever,” said Joanna Cagan, Executive Director of WOW! Children’s Museum. “At WOW! we are committed to delivering innovative play opportunities that spark children’s curiosity and creativity. And we are so grateful to be included in the terrific mix of nonprofits buoyed by community giving during Colorado Gives Day!”

In 2024 WOW! has welcomed over 500 attendees at their monthly Sensory Friendly Playtimes, provided science outreach programming to over 5,000 students and teachers across the region, and opened their doors to over 60,000 visitors to explore, learn and play at the Museum. “None of our incredible work would be possible without contributions from our generous community,” said Carly Sargent-Knudson, WOW! Director of Community Giving. “As we close out this year and face the uncertainties that often come with a new one, we look to our community for their financial support to help us keep at the important work of inspiring young children and their families to learn, play and grow together. We are proud to be a welcoming place for people of all backgrounds and grateful for every necessary dollar donated to our small and mighty museum.”
