Stance on Science wants Science elevated in Colorado

June, 2026 – Statewide across Colorado

Do you use a phone? Worry about keeping your family healthy? Consume those delicious Colorado peaches and other locally grown food?

Science affects every part of our daily lives in Colorado, including the safety and security of our food and water, the health of our communities, our education systems, and the jobs and technologies that power our state’s future. Yet too often, science is left out of the decisions that build our current and future livelihoods. We are Stance on Science – Colorado, a team of scientists living and working in Colorado who want to make this information accessible to every Coloradan and empower you to make evidence-based decisions when voting for the people who manage our lives through policymaking.

Find out how primary election candidates will value and use science in decision-making with our free, easy-to-use resource: Stance on Science – Colorado.

This initiative comes out of the Scientist Network for Advancing Policy (SNAP) Coalition, a non-partisan group of early-career scientists and researchers from across the United States. SNAP serves to mobilize scientists for large-scale initiatives to bridge the gap between scientists, their communities, and the general public. Stance on Science has teams across most states, all organizing so that our elected officials know that science matters and to ensure voters are provided with clear and accessible information.

Stance on Science Colorado will be running this initiative through the November 2026 General Election. Candidates across races for Governor, US House of Representatives, State Senate, State House of Representatives, Secretary of State, Attorney General, County Commissioners, and University of Colorado Board of Regents have shared their Stances on Science across topics of Agriculture, Public Health, Artificial Intelligence, and more ahead of the June Primaries.

Keep track of all candidates’ responses through the primaries and general elections on our website: https://snapcoalition.org/initiatives/stance-on-science/states/co
