Colorado Brazil Fest, Aug. 6-Aug. 9

The Boulder Samba School invites Coloradans to celebrate Brazilian culture at Colorado Brazil Fest. From percussion workshops to carnaval shows, this four-day event will be filled with electrifying live music, bold colors, sensational samba and authentic cuisine. Varying events will take place at the Boulder County Historic Courthouse, the Dairy Arts Center, Intercambio, Junkyard Social Club and Roots Music Project. Boulder Taco Fest, Aug. 22

Spice up the sizzling summer at Boulder Taco Fest. Start the festival off by building up your appetite with the 5K Taco Run. Then, from 12-5 PM, enjoy tacos and tequila from 20+ local vendors; practice your salsa skills at the Live DJ Digital Love Joint; watch lucha libre wrestlers fly through the air; and listen to live music from Boulder favorites, 40 oz to Freedom and the Dirty Turkeys. Lafayette Peach Festival, Aug. 8

Colorado’s world-famous all-natural Palisade peaches are coming to the Front Range in Lafayette’s 27th annual Peach Festival. In the prime of the peak season, Old Town Lafayette welcomes vendors serving delicious peach pie, peach cobbler, and the Palisade peaches themselves. Join the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce for a day of celebration and indulgence accompanied by inflatables and fun for the whole family.

May Be Fern at Louisville Summer Concerts in the Park, Jul. 23

May Be Fern brings a new energy to Colorado’s music scene with their distinctive blend of funk and rock. This trio of long-time friends Hannah, Kate, and Madi joined forces after the pandemic with their diverse musical backgrounds to form May Be Fern. The final Thursday of Louisville Summer Concerts in the Park promises to be an unforgettable evening in Louisville Community Park.

Film on the Rocks: Jurassic Park, Aug. 10

The Cretaceous Period, 66 million years ago, was home to many of the dinosaurs in the beloved movie Jurassic Park, and the beautiful Red Rocks red sandstone formations arose only one year later, 65 million years ago! Come watch the fictional classic from director Steven Spielberg while surrounded by the tangible record of the Earth’s past. The only thing that can make dinosaurs cooler is watching them next to their real habitat!

Flexi-Verse: Harmonic Convergence, Jul. 22

Held in The Meow Wolf Perplexiplex digital forest with a live DJ, this yoga session will be unlike any other! Come down to Meow Wolf’s Denver Convergence station for a vinyasa yoga class taught by Adam Brous and live music from DJ Taz Rashid, promising to transport you to your own inner universe through noise-cancelling headphones with an ethereal soundscape and atmosphere.

Louisville Old Time Fiddle Contest, Aug. 1

Whip out your fiddles and come show the community your talent on August 1st at the Steinbaugh Pavilion in Louisville from 11 AM to 1 PM. The Old Time Fiddle Contest is back for the second year in a row, and entry is free, so what are you waiting for! Boulder Public Library will be hosting an all-ages opening reception for the ReCreate exhibit by The Boulder Arts Association, featuring various works of art that have been created from Boulder Arts Association artist members repurposing materials in order to create new works in a wonderful display of creativity and talent.

Where We Roam: A Show For Public Lands is the featured exhibition in the NoBo Art District. Curated by Robin van Wageningen, it features 20 Coloradan landscape artists whose work advocates for the connection, memories, and recreation fostered by shared public lands.
