Drink A Beer While Your Pooch Gets Clean
Granted, most people’s idea of a massage for fido is a scratch behind the ears and a belly rub. But maybe it’s time to give ol’ Rover the high-end treatment, while supporting a great cause. On Aug. 12, head to the Left Hand Brewery (1265 Boston Ave, Longmont) where the Longmont Humane Society will have its Bubbly at the Brewery Dog Wash benefit. Washes are $15 for small dogs, $20 for large ones. Brats and beers will be served—to the people, not the pups. Call 303.772.1232 ext. 235.

Smattering of Taste
Colorado tastes like turkey legs and gyros, fresh fruit and meat on a stick, funnel cakes and beer brats, cotton candy and buffalo burgers. Actually, that’s just a microcosm of the state’s taste, at least so far as the Taste of Colorado is concerned. Head to Civic Center Park over Labor Day Weekend (Aug. 31-Sept. 3) and discover what the Centennial State palate is all about. Admission is free. Call 303.228.8000.

Ummm, Peaches

Do you like peaches? What about peach cobbler? Peach pie? Lafayette does. In fact, it loves peaches so much, it dedicates a day to the deciduous tree’s fruit. Head to Old Town from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 18 for the annual Lafayette Peach Festival and enjoy the dozens of booths of crafts, jewelry, art, music, and a huge selection of fresh produce. Admission is free. Call 303.926.4352.

Cream Of The Crop-A-Be-Bop-A-Woo-Woo
What is it about college towns and a capella groups? Show us a college without an all-male a capella group, and we’ll show you a mail order tech school. (The truth: Women are irresistibly drawn to them; moths to the proverbial flame.) Boulder alone has more than its fair share, and the FACE Vocal Band one of the best. See what all the hullabaloo’s about as the Longmont Museum Concert Series welcomes the septet 7 p.m. Aug. 15. Admission is free. Call 303.651.8969.
