The Democratic National Convention will be a historic event when it opens in Denver next month. The first black man to run for president representing a major party will be officially anointed as the Dems nominee. The city will be ablaze with politicos, protestors and everything in between. But who is going to pay for it? The Dems fell short of yet another major fundraising goal, leaving them short of the $40.6 million they were supposed to raise by mid-June. This is not uncommon, and Dems are hopeful now that Barack vs. Hillary is over, big-time donors can turn their attention toward their parties big Denver summer party.
[What’s Next] Perhaps Barack can dig deep into his vast war chest of donations and throw some change Denver’s way.
