The Dairy Center for the Arts is bringing back one of their most popular exhibits Friday, as the artists from Imagine! Colorado hosts their opening reception. T

Imagine is a local non-profit that serves individuals with developmental delays and disabilities throughout their lives. With a budget of $31 million, the organization works with more than two thousand people in the Front Range. It’s mission is to “create and offer innovative supports to people of all ages with cognitive, developmental, physical, and health related needs so they may live fulfilling lives of independence and quality in their homes and communities.”

The expression of oneself through art is one of the ways Imagine brings its mission to life. The exhibit, which runs through July 31, displays the artist’s original artwork. It also shows how Imagine’s art teachers build adaptive art-making tools when needed to assist artists who encounter difficulty with tasks like holding a paintbrush or steadying a camera.

The opening reception is Friday at 5 p.m. with performances by some of the artists at 7 p.m.
