It’s that time of the year. Hot dogs and oh my gaawwwwd’s as the skies light up in reds, whites, and blues…and every other color. It’s the Fourth of July and America is ready to celebrate (or lament the state of our union, depending on your political leanings). In either case, America, you should be with friends, family, and community to share a cold beverage and appreciate each other. A couple of interesting facts: the Declaration of  Independence – also known as the reason we celebrate the Fourth of July – was actually, formally declared on July 2, 1776, a date that founding father John Adams believed would be “the most memorable epocha in the history of America.” On July 4, 1776, Congress approved the final text of the Declaration (so we’re celebrating Congress?). It wasn’t actually signed until August 2, 1776. Did we get the date wrong? Oh well, too late, there’s no going back; the ice is melting and the fireworks are ready. Oh, and Tom Cruise already made that movie, so we’re doing this.

Lastly, remember to put the phone down and be in the moment. If you’re going to snap pictures, get pictures of the happiness and excitement glowing in your loved ones eyes. Leave firework photography to the pros.
