The Global Dance Festival is back and better than ever for its 17thannual event armed with must-see headliners, maintaining their reputation of being bigger and better every year. The festival is condensed into two nights of live music, dancing, carnival rides, food, and art at the Mile High Sports Authority Field (where the Broncos play!), in Denver from July 19-20. This event is basically a playground for all ages (18+ for VIP, 21+ for bar). You do not want to miss out on the largest summer festival in Colorado.

Knowing they have big shoes to fill, the Global Dance Festival has amplified their immersive experience by implementing numerous art exhibits and food trucks to fuel your bodies and minds. A multitude of food and beverage opportunities will be available to you throughout the festival grounds, including a Food Truck Market Place offering varying cuisines, and free water refill stations located throughout the venue.

STAGES:

Now, let’s talk lineup. Even if you’re not an electronic dance music addict, you’re bound to recognize some of these sets.

Summit Stage: aka, the mainstage, requires a considerable amount of talent to fill the area with high energy music and captivating visuals. This year, Summit Stage will feature Diplo, Excision B2B Illenium, Galantis, Kaskade, ZHU, and more.

Northern Lights Stage. This dream-like venue is encapsulated in a tent with incredible production quality, known to generate heavy base and head-banging sounds.

Northern Lights Stage will feature artists Chase & Status, Herobust, Krewella, Space Jesus, and Blanke, among many.

Next is Amazon Stage, arguably the grooviest stage of all. They’re bringing out Green Velvet, Shiba San, Black Caviar, Destructo, Dr. Fresch, Eli & Fur, and the list goes on.

Tundra Stage, a dancer’s own personal electronic heaven, will feature Dabin, Elohim, Keysnkrates, Bronze Whale, and Toy Box. Ready to play?

Monstercat Stage, last but not least, brings a lively crew, full of electric, moving and grooving noises brought to you by artists such as Cloudnone, DirtyPhonics, Grant, Kuuro, Notaker, Riot, Snavs, and CaseClosed.

Once again, the Silent Disco is back. Leaving the choice up to you, there are several different multi-genre sets to experience, all originating from the mile-high city itself. Tune into local artists with like-minded people to create a unique experience provided by the Silent Disco.

During your time at the Global Dance Festival, you will be immersed in an environment populated by performers of all types; including dancers, circus performers, and stilters in costumes scattering fairytale-like energy across the magical festival fields.

VIP access is available for festival-goers ages 18 and up. Is VIP admittance worth it, you may ask? The short answer is splurge. The VIP experience includes accelerated festival entry, allowing you to skip the sweaty lines we are all too familiar with, various private and up-close viewing areas, a VIP lanyard, and admission into private bars, bathrooms and lounge sitting areas.

Why not enhance your festival experience?

As you may already know, Global Dance Festival changed their venue in recent years from the beloved Red Rocks Amphitheater, to the much larger Sports Authority Field. This change is supposedly due to demand in ticket sales and bigger headliners, bringing much larger crowds in attendance to the 2-day festival. When questioned about the change of venue in 2017, the festival was hesitant to reply, cryptically quipping, “We will have more details at a later date”. The transformation of Global Dance Festival didn’t have a negative impact on sales, continuing to live up to the hype as the largest EDM summer festival in the Rocky Mountain region.

The art installations of the festival also have a pretty stellar reputation to uphold. An example of last year’s exhibit included the Dragonfly Art Park, which was an enchanting grassy field of inflated dragonflies and glowing tall metal flowers, providing both a shaded chill area and pleasant visuals.

In preparation for a stress-free festival affair, here are a couple helpful hints regarding tickets and smooth entry. Tickets will be sold at the festival itself, providing the tickets do not all sell out in advance. If the event does not sell out, you can buy tickets at the box office.

Bags, purses, and hydration packs must be within the 12”x12” guidelines. Also, keep in mind this is not a camping festival. Check out hot hotels near the grounds here- https://globaldancefestival.com/2017/hotels/ or consider AirBnB. And lastly, attendees are not permitted to re-enter the festival once they have exited.

The largest electronic dance music event in Colorado is just a couple days away, don’t pass up the opportunity to experience an enchanting weekend. For more information on tickets and the event itself, visit https://globaldancefestival.com/2017/tickets/ga-tickets/.
