Being Better Neighbors is a non-profit organization established to embrace Erie’s growing diversity and to ensure we live in a welcoming and inclusive town. The organization began from a resident’s effort to host a march for racial justice in spring of 2020, which attracted 1000 residents from Erie and surrounding towns. Seeing the interest in racial justice and inclusion, the organizers of the march created Being Better Neighbors, which hosted the first annual Juneteenth celebration in Erie in 2021, shortly after Juneteenth was declared the newest national holiday. The organization hopes to continue hosting events and raising awareness for all of our diverse population, and will be hosting Erie’s 2nd Annual Juneteenth celebration on June 18th, 2022. Stay tuned for more info on that!
