Weld County Commissioner Lori Saine Reassigned from Department Oversight Duties for Ethical Conflicts

Weld County Commissioner Lori Saine was reassigned from her departmental oversight duties during a regularly scheduled commission meeting on July 19 for alleged ethical conflicts, sources told Yellow Scene Magazine.

The Board of Commissioners voted 4-1 to remove Saine from Weld County’s Departments of Finance and Administration, Health Services, Planning, Public Works, and Human Services. Saine was the lone “no” vote on the resolution.

Weld County Board of Commissioners Chair Mike Freeman also sent a letter on July 19 to Dacono’s Urban Renewal Authority Executive Director Jennifer Krieger recommending that Commissioner Perry Buck replace Saine on the agency “effective immediately.”

Freeman told YS in an emailed statement that “the Board felt there was a need to make a change in department coordinator positions,” and that Saine is still employed as a county commissioner.

The move comes after YS published an investigation showing that Saine was involved in the firing of former Dacono city manager A.J. Euckert.

During the July 19 meeting, Saine thanked the directors for giving her an award recognizing her leadership and said she hoped to “continue working with [the County Commissioners] in the future.”

YS reached out to the City of Dacono for further information on the move but did not immediately receive a reply. YS also reached out to Saine directly about the move but did not receive a reply.
