Boulder County, CO – May 29, 2024

Children who have experienced abuse and neglect face a frightening unknown. Courtrooms. Foster care. New Schools. A continuous stream of case professionals. All while dealing with the trauma of abuse and neglect.

At Voices for Children, CASA of Boulder County, we make sure these children don’t face the dependency court and foster care systems alone. Our highly trained Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers get to know each child on the case they are assigned and are by their side, advocating for their best interests in the courtroom. CASA volunteers make sure each child’s individual needs remain a priority in an overburdened child welfare system. They make sure the child is safe, has the shortest possible road to a permanent home, and has the opportunity to thrive.

During a child’s time in the system, they might have dozens of social workers, attorneys, therapists, teachers, and caregivers – but will only have one CASA volunteer. For many, their CASA volunteer is the one consistent person in their life. Right now, there are 14 youth in Boulder County waiting for a CASA. You can help! Join us at an upcoming CASA 101 session to learn more about our organization and how we support our volunteers.
