The FREE kickoff party will have a little taste of everything you love about Lafayette Music Fest––live music by The Ephinjis, local Stem Cider, hang with the 2025 bands and performers, Hot Diggity Dog food truck, festival wristband giveaways, and a silent auction to fundraise for the festival nonprofit, Rock For The People. Swing by for a cider and some live music!
Over the past twelve months, Rock For The People awarded over $15,000 in scholarships to local recording artists and distributed $35,000 in paid gigs and paid internships for musicians, music industry professionals, and other creatives. This means that the organization has proudly distributed over $50,000 throughout the course of its yearly programming, with proceeds going to musicians and music industry professionals from historically underrepresented communities.
Since its inception in 2020, Rock for the People has distributed over $100,000 to musicians, music industry professionals, and creatives, with no plans on slowing down. We have been thankful for the support from our individual donors, as well as our grants from the City of Lafayette, Boulder County Arts Alliance, Griffin’s Gaia Foundation, and more. We also are very appreciative of our board members and volunteers, who have tirelessly worked to make these programs a reality.
Our free community events have been very well attended, from nearly 90 musicians at our most recent Band Speed Dating event, to a capacity crowd at our April Open Mic at The End Lafayette. All in All, over 400 musicians have participated in our free events over the past 12 months. And our 2024 Lafayette Music Fest was our most successful yet, with over 150 Colorado artists from various backgrounds playing across nine stages for one special day to over 2,000 attendees, making it Boulder County’s biggest day of music.
Emboldened by our success, we are looking to the future, and are in the beginning stages of creating an endowment to ensure this level of community impact will continue for years to come. To become a donor, sponsor, or investor in our endowment, please reach out to us at [email protected].
We are also looking for volunteers to help us expand programming in the Denver and Boulder metro areas, from our community open mic nights, to the Lafayette Music Fest, and everything in between. Visit our website and click on Volunteer for more information!
