The Largest Music Festival in Boulder in over a decade
A Three-Day Music Festival on Pearl Street, Boulder, featuring over 400 artists.
Boulder, CO – Roots Music Project, a charitable music community in Boulder Colorado, is thrilled to announce a groundbreaking three-day music festival called Roots Music Fest, taking place on Pearl Street in Boulder, Colorado, on October 17-19th, 2025.
Roots Music Fest celebrates the explosive growth and prolific talent of Colorado’s local music scene. This monumental event will feature over 100 bands performing on over ten stages, offering a diverse and immersive experience for music lovers of all genres.
This festival marks a significant milestone for the Colorado music community, showcasing the incredible depth and breadth of talent that calls the state home. From seasoned veterans to rising stars, the lineup will represent the diverse sounds and styles that make Colorado’s music scene so unique. The initial line-up announcement includes Yonder Mountain String Band, Banshee Tree, Rootbeer Richie & The Reveille, Danger Foley and Wrenn Van.
Traditional and non-traditional venues will host stages, including retail stores on and around Pearl Street. The first round of stages announced includes the Boulder Theater, eTown, The Velvet Elk, Odd Fellows and Stone Cottage Studios. The festival will also feature outdoor music discovery zones on Pearl Street.
“We’re incredibly excited to bring this festival to life on iconic Pearl Street,” says Dave Kennedy, Executive Director of Roots Music Project. “The Colorado music scene is gaining momentum, and the artists need a platform to showcase their amazing creativity and talent with a wider audience.”
The festival promises an unforgettable weekend of music, community, art and celebration. Attendees can expect a wide range of genres, from indie, funk, hip hop, cumbia, folks, blues, blue grass, electronic, and everything in between.
“Frankly, we’re surprised that a music festival of this kind does not already exist in Boulder. Denver has the Underground Music Showcase, Ft. Collins has FOCOmx, why has it taken this long to create our own festival right here in Boulder?” says Dave Kennedy, Executive Director of Roots Music Project. “This is the start of decades long music tradition in Boulder. Our goal is to make this festival the Bolder Boulder of music festivals.”
