Free community block party aims to raise funds for recovery

NEDERLAND, Colo. Headlined by The Galentines, the free benefit event will take place on Big Springs Drive and will feature live music, food trucks, beer gardens and kid-friendly activities. The event is a full-scale community effort led by Tebo Properties with help from The Carousel of Happiness, Eldora, Emily Perry & Indian Peaks Real Estate, Ned General Store, the Town of Nederland, Stem Cider, Oskar Blues, and many other organizations.

The Boulder County Community Foundation will distribute donations collected throughout the event.

“It’s been incredible to see the way this community has rallied around all of us,” said Mike McNett, owner of Ned General Store. “The Nederland Strong block party is our chance to remind everyone that our community still stands, and to help our business owners and employees through this disaster.”

“Caribou Village Shopping Center was more than storefronts – it was where the community met, laughed, worked and celebrated,” said James Dixon, CEO of Tebo Properties. “We’re very grateful to the supporting businesses and community leaders who have been instrumental in lifting this community during dark times.”

“In times of tragedy, our first instinct is to look toward the helpers and the people rebuilding the community,” said Tatiana Hernandez, executive director of the Community Foundation. “The Community Foundation is honored to work with the Town of Nederland and other stakeholders in helping to distribute these charitable contributions.”
