Sure those folks in Georgia “say” they have great peaches, but have you tried a Palisade peach? Way better. Like, comparing-The-Beatles-to-Wings better. So where can you find more than 30,000 pounds of certified organic Palisade peaches? Why, the Lafayette Peach Festival of course. On Aug. 18, head out to this sunny street festival and enjoy fresh peach pie, peach cobbler, peach smoothies and any other peachy delight that you can imagine. And no street fair would be complete without free music, entertainment and face painting. In addition, Bonfils will be on site taking much-needed donations. Check out lafayettecolorado.com for details on this sweet event.

Gear Up
With the Olympics over and the Tour de France nothing but a memory, gearheads can still get their pedal fix when the U.S. Pro Cycling Challenge makes its way through Boulder on Aug. 25. Boulder is the second to last stage on the Durango to Denver circuit that will see the world’s top cyclists pelotoning their way along the 600-plus mile route that features a lung-popping 10,000 feet of elevation gain along the way. Pick a good spot to watch the race and stake it out well—last year’s inaugural race drew more than a million spectators. Eyeball the route at bit.ly/NouD9W.
