Halloween isn’t even here yet and we’re already exhausted. What a Saturday night. We assume you went out in your onesies and facepaint and psychedelic stylings to drink and dance and smile at the play terror Halloween affords. Our editor, De La Vaca, went out for a round of events from Denver to BoCo to home for all of you who couldn’t get a sitter. It’s a tough job but someone has to do it.
Starting our night off, we hit up the Seventh Circle Music Collective on W 7th Ave in Denver for a few bands including a local Denver favorite, Grammar School Tracks, helmed by Drew McClellan with backup from Gavin St. John.
Check out their latest music video here. They describe themselves as circus sideshow rock, bringing ragtime back. We love it.
Following that, with Grammar Schools’ song Costume Party still ringing in my head, we hit up the Kevin Larson Presents function, Denver Halloween: Paranormal Palace. Now, while we were there when the doors opened so the rooms weren’t quite full and even though we didn’t have VIP access for the upper floors, we can definitely say this event was badass and spooky cool. This was an elite party. The McNichols building hosting 3 levels of Halloween madness. VIP tickets sold out before general admission. Denver’s movers and shakers were out in force to show their sexy, scary, sultry sides.
Amazing costumes, gorgeous people, drinks on deck, and a DJ making the smoke machine filled dance floor pop kept us smiling and swaying. You know it’s a great party when naked bodies covered in body paint are lining up in the cold to get in. My Zorro costume barely kept me warm enough. Check out a few of our favorites:
Kevin Larson Presents is known for its events thrown throughout the year and we highly suggest you follow their page. We’ll be sitting down with Kevin for a feature soon so check back for that.
Lastly, we swung through Boulder for the Exotica Erotica Ball hosted at the Bohemian Biergarten. We’re still feeling sexy and ashamed by what we witnessed. In between swigs from tall hefeweizen’s and shots of whiskey, Master Kilted Patrick kept his whip cracking as ladies lined up for a chance to experience some light bdsm in the form of whip spanking while tied to a post.
Ending a night out having visited the best Halloween parties Colorado has to offer has us feeling really lovely. Colorado knows how to party. And we’re not even done. Yellow Scene will be at the Itchy-O Hallowmass event on the 31st. One of the premier bands in Colorado, known for their madness, their coordination, and the magic that tends to ensue at their events, we know this will be the way to end this year’s Halloween season. Will we see you there?
We leave you with a picture of our editor dressed as Zorro at the Exotica Erotica Ball. Until next year.
