Award-Winning Distillery Expanding Production in their New Downtown Longmont Location

LONGMONT, CO – April 19, 2022 – Dry Land Distillers, the award-winning craft distillery located in the heart of downtown Longmont, Colorado, has announced the company has successfully closed their first Class A private financing round. At just under $1.3 million, the funds have allowed Dry Land to increase their production capacity by 400%.

The distillery, specializing in crafting spirits that showcase the American West, has shown strong growth every year since operations began in late 2018. Their core products include rare, single grain wheat whiskeys, an original mescal-style spirit made from native prickly pear cactus, and an authentic, 100% native Colorado gin.

We’re thrilled to complete a successful capital campaign. It allows us to ramp up our production of all of our core spirits to meet the strong demand we see across all sales channels,” said Nels Wroe, founder, Dry Land Distillers. “We’ve been rationing quantities across a core group of retailers due to demand outpacing supply and are looking forward to expanding sales throughout Colorado,” he added.

The company was the recipient of the 2020 Colorado Craft Distiller of the Year, and recently opened a larger facility on Main Street in downtown Longmont. Their new location, originally built in 1914, was the home of the Valley Farm Dairy for more than 50 years. The new space houses their expanded production facility and a mid-century inspired cocktail lounge and tasting room. The distillery team completely restored the space with sustainability in mind. The company won the 2021 “Most Environmentally Sustainable Business” award by Partners for a Clean Environment (PACE) and the City of Longmont, and have applied for LEEDS certification on the project.

Dry Land Distillers has made an incredible investment and impact to the Longmont community,” said Kimberlee McKee, executive director, Longmont Downtown Development Authority. “As part of one of Colorado’s certified Creative Districts, their tasting room is as creative as the quality, native spirits they produce. It’s exciting to watch demand grow throughout the state and beyond,” she added.

The distillery crafts spirits from original ingredients that are either native to Colorado or appropriate for the dry, tough growing conditions in the region. Their spirits have been awarded a long list of medals, including the Gold Medal for their Heirloom Wheat Whiskey from the Sunset International Spirits Competition.

Patrons can locate Dry Land Distillers spirits at select bottle shops and restaurants throughout the Front Range, order products online via drylanddistillers.com, or visit their new cocktail lounge and distillery at 519 Main Street in downtown Longmont.
