TODAY 1/25: Plane Banner to Fly Over Denver AFC Championship Game Demanding “No ICE at 2026 Super Bowl”

After ICE’s latest murder in MN, MoveOn banner calls for the NFL to keep ICE out of the 2026 Super Bowl Game at Levi’s Stadium

Denver, CO – This Sunday, January 25, an airplane banner commissioned by MoveOn Civic Action will fly over the AFC Championship game at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, urging the NFL not to allow President Trump’s ICE agents at the 2026 Super Bowl and encouraging NFL fans to make their voice heard.

The banner comes the day after a masked ICE agent murdered Alex Jeffrey Pretti and after another agent murdered Renee Good in Minneapolis earlier this month. As public opinion continues to sour on ICE’s unchecked violence, pressure mounts on the NFL ahead of the most-viewed televised event of the year. A MoveOn Civic Action petition calling on the NFL to keep ICE out of the Super Bowl has more than 150,000 signatures and counting.

“The American people have had enough of President Trump’s reckless ICE agents murdering Minnesotans, abducting children from schools, and wrongfully arresting pastors,” said MoveOn spokesperson Britt Jacovich. “This year’s Super Bowl should be remembered for big plays and Bad Bunny, not masked and armed ICE agents running around the stadium inflicting chaos, violence, and trauma on fans and stadium workers. The NFL can’t stay on the sidelines, the league has a responsibility to act like adults, protect Super Bowl fans and stadium workers, and keep ICE out of the game.”

“As we can see with our own eyes, Trump’s ICE murdered another person today. President Trump, DHS, and ICE are lying to the American people to cover up state-sanctioned violence. We cannot trust a word out of the Trump administration’s mouths. ICE needs to follow the guidance of local officials and residents and get out of Minneapolis immediately. Members of Congress must show some spine and do everything in their power to hold ICE accountable and save lives, including heading to Minneapolis themselves and blocking DHS funding.”

The 2026 Super Bowl will take place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on February 8. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem has previously made comments that federal immigration officers would be “all over” the Super Bowl this year. But following aggressive immigration raids carried out in Chicago and Minneapolis, public polling shows that more Americans now describe ICE’s operations as “going too far,” with the majority reporting that ICE is making communities less safe, and saying the agency’s tactics are “too tough.”

The MoveOn Civic Action petition says the NFL has a responsibility to protect its fans – the very people who make the Super Bowl one of the biggest sporting events in the world.

Bad Bunny, who’s slated to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show, previously said in an interview that he did not include the United States in his 2025-2026 concert tour, out of fear that his shows would become raid targets for ICE. He has previously been critical of ICE operations and the Trump administration.

In November, MoveOn Civic Action commissioned a similar plane banner over Levi’s Stadium ahead of the Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers game, displaying the link to the petition.
