Seligman for AG Releases Statement on Gov. Polis Censure

Denver, CO – Tonight, David Seligman, candidate for Attorney General, released the following statement following the Colorado Democratic Party’s vote to censure Governor Polis:

“I support the Colorado Democratic Party’s censure of Governor Polis. But that’s not enough. The General Assembly should reconvene to investigate and hold him accountable. And if he commuted Tina Peters’ sentence at the behest of Donald Trump, surrendering the sovereign authority of Colorado, he should be impeached. We have to be done with performative politics and wield the tools of public power for real accountability for abuses of power.”

Seligman released an open letter to the members of the General Assembly outlining the legal rationale for the General Assembly to reconvene for an impeachment or formal censure of the Governor. See Seligman’s open letter to the legislature here.
