GOTH MOM-GEEK MOM-MALL MOM
Sometimes you just need to buy Mom some stuff, from the (shudder) mall. Good thing Eastern Boulder County has so many to choose from.
While many little girls like to pretend they’re princesses and grow up wanting to be Queen, some savvier big girls want to be the Villainess. And who’s the baddest of the bad? Disney’s own Maleficent. Fashion is already gearing up to take advantage of the Angelina Jolie film “Maleficent,” opening May 30th, and so should you.
MAC Cosmetics is advertising their limited edition set of X Disney Maleficent makeup and nail polish in all the women’s magazine, so you’d better snap them up as soon as they become available. Stop by MAC stores and Macy’s, or grab mom a gift card. If 2010’s Venomous Villainous Line is any indicator of how the makeup manufacturer rolls with Disney baddies, the Maleficent line will be bigger than her dragon wings. Expect to pay a bit more, in the $15–35 range per piece.
If you happen to have a sullen teen they might stop rolling their eyes long enough to escort you to the ubiquitous Hot Topic (Flatiron Crossing). All their clothes are black, and they already have a full line of Evil Queen clothes and accessories available from $6.80 for a horned Maleficent ring to $50 for a pullover hoodie. Imagine the look on Mom’s face when the kids give her the things wished she could steal from them.
