You all voted; we listened. Health and wellness is important to us Boulderites, and this is the best there is, according to you lovely readers.

Rec Center: YMCA

Working out at the YMCA of Boulder Valley is about more than getting in shape (and dancing along to the famous song). With top of the line equipment and classes for young and old, they are creating a healthy community for everyone so you can get out your best revealing construction worker costume and bust a move with confidence.

Martial Arts (B): Easton Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Each type of martial arts provides a different benefit. At Easton Training Center you can try kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai or mixed martial arts to get the exact workout of self-defense skills that you need. It’s 2019, time to kick some ass.

Yoga (EC): Soul Tree

Soul Tree Yoga is more than a yoga studio, it’s a living, breathing, growing community. With classes most people can afford, community nights out, retreats and a healing clinic, they have become experts in bringing people together to heal and to thrive.

Golf: Flatirons Golf Course

With 50,000 rounds of golf played at Flatirons Golf Course annually, there’s got to be something special about the place. Maybe it’s the impeccable grounds keeping, the challenging 18-hole course, or the brilliant sunsets that mark the end of a day well-played. It’s a beautiful spot for those golfers that have moved past putt-putt. I haven’t.

Gym: The Spot

Meet me at the Spot might sound like a euphemism, but you’ll get a different sense of excitement bouldering at one of Boulder’s best climbing gyms. It has a range of boulders, walls, and equipment that won’t break the bank.

Ski Resort: Breckenridge

Breckenridge has 187 trails, nearly 3,000 acres of skiable terrain, 34 lifts, and a 22’ superpipe. That all adds up to a hell of a good time. At the end of the season, get out your best ridiculous outfit and compete in the Imperial Challenge, biking and skiing in jean cutoffs, it doesn’t get any better than that.

Martial Arts (EC): Vision Quest

Vision Quest is a safe place for children to build confidence, to feel supported, and learn the importance of self-care through guided classes, summer camps, and other monthly events. They also offer a 4-week trial to ensure they will make a right fit, you might even find your own Mr. Miyagi.

Yoga (B): Yoga Pod

Is stress weighing you down? Sweat it out at one of Yoga Pod’s hot yoga classes or simmer down in a relaxing Yin class. The studio practically has classes every hour, so you don’t have to have a flexible schedule to catch your favorite class.

Pilates Studio (B) The Pilates Center

The Pilates Center has taken Boulder global with studios throughout the USA, Ireland, the UK, France, Lebanon, and the UAE. They are the hub for all things Pilates.

Manicure (B): J Lounge

You know relaxation is upon you when you walk into J Lounge and are struck by the aroma of lavender. From then on you can expect delicate manicure techniques, products free from icky things like formaldehyde, and a much-needed hand massage to end the appointment. It will make people think you’ve never worked a day in your life.

Med Spa (EC): Aesthetic Solutions

It’s all about the aesthetic, and your skin, face and body should be no different – 30 is the new 20 and 50 is the new 40, and you want to look like it too. At Aesthetic Solutions, they have treatments for aging, skin discoloration, cellulite, and everything else under the sun.

Med Spa (B): Aura

Aura is about total rejuvenation, whether that means a little nip and tuck or tightening it up down south. They also offer oxygen facials, microdermabrasion and laser treatments. Freakin lasers.

Massage (EC): Elements

If you fall in love with the relaxing and comfortable style of Elements Style, then you’re in luck, because they’ve got locations all along the Front Range. There are so many options to pop in and get rid of your stress and tension.

Day Spa (B): The Dragontree Spa

The founders of The Dragontree Spa have cultivated more than just a relaxation space, they’ve pioneered a peaceful way of living that they proudly share through their brand of spas, books, magazines, and herbal products, the most Boulder of spas.

Day Spa (EC): Spavia

Need to  “Treat Yo Self?” Do it at Spavia. By the end of your massage or facial, you are so refreshed, it’s as if you’ve never endured the daily barrage of Colorado sun and wind, high-altitude dehydration. Good for you, Donna and Tom would be proud.

Barbershop (EC): Roosters

Rooster’s barbershop feels like a fancy Old West barbershop and smells like cedar. Once your cut or trim is over, you’ll leave feeling like a cowboy after winning a draw, you’ll smell better than one though.

Barbershop (B): Truman

Truman Barbershop has a vibe of its own: suave, authentic, and professional. This is a great spot for people who are particular about the way their hair is cut, and isn’t that really all of us? These barbers really listen.
