REMOVE TRUMP NOW – CAR RALLY/CAR PARADE
Sunday, Jan. 10th, 2021
12:00 Noon
South High School
What: A Covid-safe car rally/caravan, starting in the parking lot at South High School. In-person and virtual speakers, followed by a car caravan ending at Manual High School.
Who: Community Activist and Denver School Board Director Tay Anderson, in collaboration with local organizers, is hosting the event. Anderson will provide opening remarks, followed by a statement from Congresswoman Diana Degette. In-person speakers include Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser, Hermela Goshu (DPS Student Leader from East High School), Wendy Howell from the Working Families Party, and RTD Board Director Shontel Lewis. Virtual speakers include Former Colorado State Representative Joseph Salazar, Colorado State Representative Leslie Herod and Sarah Metsch from ADAPT.
“There can be no unity without accountability and justice. Trump must be removed from office, and those in power who added to his inciteful rhetoric by seeking to erase the people’s votes should immediately resign,” said Anderson.
When: Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021, 12 noon
Where: South High School School, 1700 E. Louisiana, Denver
Why: In his final days as president, Trump continues to promote violence, hatred, racism and terror. The attacks on the US Capitol this past week have shocked the world, all the more so because they were incited by the nation’s highest office holders. President Trump must be removed from office now, and his enablers must be held accountable. Community members and leaders call on Congress to take immediate action to remove him from power. We also call for the censure and resignation of elected officials like Colorado’s own Lauren Boebert and Doug Lamborn, who attempted to cancel the votes of the people in the 2020 election.
