Jessie (name changed for privacy) just experienced the most devastating moment of her life:
She was sexually assaulted by someone she trusted.
Jessie was in shock and it was hard to make decisions. She didn’t have a support network. Due to a lifetime of rape culture messaging, Jessie questioned if the assault was her fault.
She felt completely alone.
Luckily, she called the MESA hotline and received validation and support from a trained advocate.
The MESA advocate helped Jessie understand the assault wasn’t her fault.
Jessie’s experience was validated which shifted something inside her. She felt a wave of relief, clarity, and empowerment.
Supported by MESA, she was ready to take the next steps in healing.
Our goal at MESA is to provide survivors with the emotional support they need to feel empowered to move forward.
Only through your support can we continue our critical work.
This holiday season, please consider making an end-of-year gift to MESA so we can help survivors like Jessie.
