In the Face of Growing Anti-LGBTQ Legislation, Political Rhetoric, and Violence, Pride Month is More Important Than Ever

Out Boulder County Announces 2023 Pride Month Festivals, Marches, and Activities.

More than 600 Anti-LGBTQ pieces of legislation have been introduced across the country. There is a rise of hateful political rhetoric targeting LGBTQ+ people and communities. Bullying and violence are on the rise in many states. There has never been a more important time to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community in Boulder County and to build strong community connections.

“This Pride feels different,” said Mardi Moore, Executive Director of Out Boulder County. “We are fielding calls everyday from people who are trying to move to Colorado because of discrimination in their home states. Efforts to attack our community were defeated here in Colorado, but we are one bad election from things getting bad here too.”

Out Boulder County is hosting Boulder County Pride in June, 2023. There will be three community festivals (Boulder, Longmont, and Lafayette) and two visibility marches (Boulder and Longmont) as well as a series of events throughout the month for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer community and our allies to celebrate, build community, promote visibility, and spread awareness. Details for key events are included below. Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
