Opening day of the Greeley Stampede, presented by Colorado Grit Hockey, was filled with familiar sight of flashing carnival lights, the smell of funnel cakes, and rank bulls at the PRCA Xtreme Bulls event presented by Bank of Colorado.

Fifty cowboys were scheduled to ride in this man versus beast eight second battle. With some of the best bull athletes in the business from stock contractor Beutler and Son, staying on for those short eight seconds is never an easy task and tonight was no exception. Below are the top scores from tonight’s event including a tie for first place. Keep in mind that the score is a total of two parts with half from the cowboy’s technique and the other from the performance of the bull.

CONTESTANT | BULL ATHLETE | SCORE
Tyler Bingham, Howell, UT | 710 Sharp Dressed Man | 85.5 (tie)
Hayes Weight, Goshen, UT | Z77 Reward Station | 85.5 (tie)
Creek Young, Rogersville, MO | 5H | 85
Brennon Eldred, Sulphur, OK | A66 Record Rack’s Six Shooter | 83.5
Colton Byram, Mound City, KS | 890 Mayhem | 82

Tomorrow night at the Stampede will take a brief break from rodeo as we welcome Flo Rida with Neon Union in the arena as part of the SuperStars+ Concert Series presented by Power Services Company. Rodeo will pick back up on Saturday, June 24 with day one of the PRCA ProRodeo Series at 1pm followed by Lee Brice with Ashley Cooke at 8pm.
