Artists invited to apply for 2024 art exhibitions

BOULDER, Colo. – The Boulder Public Library and Boulder Parks and Recreation Department invite artists to apply for the 2024 Open Call for Exhibitions.

The application opens on Tuesday, August 1 and closes on Thursday, August 31 at 11:59 p.m. Proposals should focus on topics connected to the local community and elevate diverse voices. Participatory art is highly encouraged for exhibitions in the Canyon Gallery at the Main Boulder Public Library. Shows typically last two months at libraries and one month at recreation centers. Honorariums are available for library exhibitions.

A total of 10 spaces are available at the following five locations: Main Boulder Public Library, which includes Canyon Gallery, Boulder Public Library’s Meadows Branch, Boulder Public Library’s George Reynolds Branch, North Boulder Recreation Center and East Boulder Community Center. Artists should review location maps and amenities and select their preferred space(s) in their application.

Location-specific guidelines, exhibition maps and the application for the open call are available on the library’s website. Proposals will be evaluated based on creativity, feasibility and community connection. For more information, please review the detailed guidelines online.
