DENVER – The Colorado Democratic Party today announced that Chair Shad Murib has been appointed to the Democratic National Committee’s influential Rules and Bylaws Committee, a key body that shapes the rules governing Democratic primaries, delegate selection, and the operation of the DNC itself.

Murib’s appointment places Colorado at the heart of the national conversation about how Democrats choose their presidential nominees, who gets access to primary ballots, and how the party ensures fairness, transparency, and inclusion in its nominating process. The committee also plays a central role in planning and overseeing the Democratic National Convention and setting the long-term governance structure of the DNC.

“The DNC’s Rules and Bylaws Committee is an integral part of an evolving Democratic Party, and I’m honored to have been appointed to serve on it,” said Shad Murib, Chair of the Colorado Democratic Party.

“I’m excited to work with such outstanding and inspirational people from across the country and contribute to the Committee’s work and mission.”

In addition to Murib’s appointment, Colorado DNC Member Stephanie Beal has been appointed to the DNC’s Resolutions Committee, which reviews resolutions and decides whether to send them to the full DNC or Executive Board for a vote. The committee ensures that all resolutions meet procedural standards and align with the party’s bylaws, serving as a vital checkpoint for the party’s policymaking and public stances.

“I am honored and humbled by my appointment to the DNC Resolutions Committee,” said Stephanie Beal, Colorado DNC Member.

“The Resolutions Committee considers all resolutions proposed by DNC members on matters of policy, as well as to honor recently deceased prominent Democrats. I look forward to working for Colorado Democrats in this capacity, and with other members of the DNC.”

Chair Murib lauded Beal for her persistence and commitment to elevating Colorado on the national stage.

“Stephanie is one of the most dedicated and hardworking people I know, and she takes her role as a DNC Member seriously. She will be instrumental in elevating our state’s voice in important decisions made at the DNC,” said Murib.

“These appointments reflect the growing influence of Colorado Democrats and our commitment to shaping the future of the Democratic Party. We’re proud to see Colorado’s leadership recognized on the national level.”

These appointments come ahead of a pivotal 2026 election cycle, as Colorado Democrats continue to lead on issues like cutting the cost of living, boosting paychecks, climate action, protecting reproductive freedom, and safeguarding our democracy.
