GREELEY, Colo. — The City of Greeley and survey consultant Felsburg, Holt, and Ullevig (FHU) have completed a historic resource survey of the Spanish Colony neighborhood north of Greeley.

Results will be shared in a special celebration open house at the House of Hope and Refuge at 1527 N. 25th Avenue Court from 2:00-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 18. Attendees will learn about the project, recommendations for future work and the survey report.

Other groups such as History Colorado, the City of Greeley Museums, the City’s lead line replacement program, and the City’s water efficiency team will be there to share information that may be of interest to attendees.

The event is open to the public, and Spanish translation will be available. There will be light refreshments and giveaways.

Funding

The project is funded by a grant from History Colorado’s State Historical Fund, the State of Colorado’s historical society. This allowed the City to hire FHU to complete the project.

Historic resource surveys document the history and architecture of:

  • historic buildings
  • sites
  • structures
  • objects
  • districts

Community members can also visit the SpeakUpGreeley.com webpage to learn more about the project, share stories and photos, and provide information of interest using the questionnaire and stories tabs.
