New York alt rockers Born Cages plays the Larimer this week to promote new album I’m Glad I’m Not Me, so we chatted with singer Vlad Holiday.N
Yellow Scene: When did the band form and what was the mission?
Vlad Holiday: We formed in 2011, and I wanted to play music that makes people how I feel – inspire people.
YS: Describe the sound…
VH: It’s alt-rock.
YS: Do you like playing Colorado?
VH: We love Colorado. We have a few friends in Denver. We’ve been there a few times passing by, and we’re all really excited to come back to Denver and it’ll be a fun show.
YS: The debut album, I’m Glad I’m Not Me, came out this year – are you happy with it?
VH: Yeah. For a while we were playing those songs at shows, and that was positive. Yeah, it turned out great.
YS: When this tour’s done, what’s next?
VH: We’ll be home for a short time, then we’re going out again. We’re still verifying details. Other than that, we’ll be promoting the record.
