David Cross at the Lincoln Center

It’s been six years since David Cross’ last tour—2010’s breakout hit Bigger and Blackerer—and early returns indicate the wry observationalist hasn’t lost a step. This time around he’s calling it his Make America Great Again tour, which is a clear nod to this election cycle and the Trump campaign slogan that’s garnered such absurd attention. We can only assume there will be plenty of shots across the GOP’s bow from the notoriously left-leaning Cross, and we’re excited for the skewering. Cypress Hill at the 1^st Bank Center

It’s been almost 30 years since Cypress Hill first broke out of South Gate, CA, advancing both the sound of the West Coast hip-hop scene and the cause of marijuana legalization over the course of nine studio albums and more than 18 million records sold. Add to that the fact that they were the first Latin hip-hop group to record these kinds of multi-platinum numbers and it’s no wonder that Cypress Hill has endured long past their heady early days of headlining Lollapalooza. David Sedaris at the Boulder Theater

It’s not the holidays if at least half a dozen theater outlets are playing Santaland Diaries American humorist and essayist David Sedaris’ one-man show about his time working as an elf for a mall Santa. But that’s just the a-side hit on what’s become a collection of tremendous works, including 2013’s best seller, Let’s Explore Diabetes With Owls, a collection of personal essays filled with sardonic wit and touching reverie. He’s hosting a two-night stand at the Boulder Theater, May 10–11, where he’ll be reading some of his most popular works. Tickets start at $35. Queensrÿche at the Fox Theater

If this were just a couple years ago, it would be a challenge to know just which Queensrÿche was showing up for this performance—the one featuring original vocalist Geoff Tate, or the one with the rest of the group that he had been fired from back in 2012. Both bands toured under the name for a while, but the courts have since awarded sole custody of the moniker to the group featuring Michael Wilton and Parker Lundgren on guitar, vocalist Todd LaTorre, drummer Scott Rockenfield and Eddie Jackson on bass. With more than 30 million albums sold since their eponymous debut back in 1982, Queensrÿche has firmly cemented themselves as one of the greatest metal bands in history. Now touring on their most recent release, Condition Hüman (Century Media, 2015), the group plays the Fox Theater on May 23 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $25, www.foxtheatre.com for more information
