The Migrant Camps are a collusion of corporate interests profiting off of imprisonment. Since these companies have now incarcerated more people than anywhere else in the world through our Justice system, they need new markets. Trump was happy to oblige.
Here are some insights into the arguments being made for these camps. The same argument can be applied to the for-profit prison industry.
• We are imprisoning people in what is considered inhumane conditions – at the cost of $775 per day/per person (which is obviously not being spent on the prisoners).
• The US is in decline population wise. We are replacing at a rate of .08 per person. Capitalism requires growth to sustain. In fact, immigration is way down.
//The United States added just 2.3 million people from 2010 to 2011, compared with 2.9 million from 2005 to 2006, just five years earlier. The decline in U.S. population growth is likely due to a confluence of factors: lower levels of immigration, population aging, and declining fertility rates.//
• We welcome immigrants. We are not afraid of immigrants and still believe in the ‘ole Statue of Liberty thing. Yes, they need to go through the proper process. They are.
The United States welcomes refugees by coming to the border. The Geneva Convention and all that ya know? They then go through the channels to see if they qualify for admittance to the US. Most of these immigrants are fleeing war-torn communities that the US helped to create through our corrupt Central & South American policies. Instead of going through the channels Trump and friends have found a way to “tap a new market” through separating families while inflicting cruel and unusual punishment. Trump is violating the law-not them.

• There is a labor shortage in America. We need laborers. Ask any shop owner.
Sadly, too many people get their news from what is classified as an entertainment channel and this channel profits off of keeping them on the seats of fear. In fact, fear is profitable for those in power and they are making billions by creating a crisis where there is none.
