MLK JR HOLIDAY MARADE & EVENTS
WILL BE LIVE IN 2022!
37th Annual MLK Jr. Day Marade – Monday, January 17, 2022 @ 10:45 AM
Begins at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. “I HAVE A DREAM MEMORIAL” in City Park.
Proceed south out of City Park, by way of Esplanade St. to Colfax, then west on Colfax to Sherman St into the State Capitol grounds; south to Broadway to Civic Center Park.
Motorized vehicles will proceed south on Broadway to 14th Ave.
The Dr. MLK Jr. program immediately follows the Marade, in Civic Center Park’s Greek Theater.
Food Bank of the Rockies will have bins along the walkway for drop-off. We will contribute refurbished and donated cell phones to battered woman’s shelters.
We are excited to have State Representative Leslie Herod live at the Robert and Judi Newman Center at 4p.m. on January 17, 2022. We look forward to you all joining us for an amazing event. We honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin L. King Jr. through our work, our faith and our sacrifice. We look forward to supporting Ms. Herod as she continues to build upon a legacy well lived! The purpose of the Statewide Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Colorado Holiday Commission is to unify and educate communities within the State of Colorado and encourage appropriate observations, ceremonies and activities in commemoration of the federal holiday and state legal holiday honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. throughout all the towns, cities, school districts, counties and local governments within Colorado.
The Black Heritage rodeo is going to be taking place on Monday January 17th at 6:00 p.m. at the National Western Complex. We have tickets on sale adults $30, youth $27, please contact Shyretta Hudnall as soon as possible if you would like tickets. (720)451-1532
