5. Taco Liberty Bell
Taco Bell sent out a press release announcing it purchased the Liberty Bell and was renaming it the Taco Liberty Bell. Public outrage ensued.
4. Swiss Spaghetti Harvest
This oldie still stands up. BBC news show “Panorama” announced in 1957 that thanks to the elimination of the spaghetti weevil, there would be a bumper spaghetti crop that year in Switzerland. Lots of folks called in wanting to learn how to grow their own spaghetti tree.
