After outrage, debate and a recommendation by the planning commission to drop the issue, Boulder City Council members are still wondering what to do about huge homes in small spaces. This has been on the table a month and it seems the only progress council has made is in defining their goal: They want to fix loss of character in single-family neighborhoods. They haven’t the faintest idea how to do it and keep taking heat from the public as they talk in circles about moratoriums and restrictions. They are spoiling a good concept.
What’s Next: Council wants to resolve the issue by year’s end—so this issue isn’t going anywhere quickly.
