Women are not small men. That is the motto the Outdoor Divas live by. Well that, and stocking their outdoor gear shop with all the apparel that sells to women who want to get outside. But business aside, the Divas are committed to providing avenues to introduce women to new activities and challenges in a supportive, non-competitive environment. On Friday, for example, they are hosting a Women’s Bike Handling Skills Clinic with Mia Stockdale of Vail Mountain Bike Camps.
Stockdale has earned several national and World Cup titles and runs several mountain bike camps for women and kids. During this clinic, she will offer a safe environment for women to practice balance exercises, front and rear wheel lifts, bunny hopping, climbing and braking on a flat grassy area. The workshop will be held at North Boulder Park.
“I love to see women gain confidence and get their skills to the next level and have fun while they’re doing it,” Stockdale says.
Outdoor Divas, 1133 Pearl St., hosts many clinics and events teaching outdoor sports to women including water and climbing sports.
