Tid-Bites: Park Burger, Denver

My friend Hannah and her husband are my go-to excuse for trying new restaurants in Denver. If I don’t really have an excuse to be down there, but want to try a new place, I’ll call them up and ask them to dinner!

So it was, Saturday night, that we found ourselves at Park Burger on Old South Pearl. Crowded with Wash Park hipsters and their trendy kids, we had to wait a while for a table to open up in the tiny restaurant, but once the food came, it was clear this was worth the wait. Hannah and I had killer straight up Park Burgers with cheddar that were perfectly cooked, juicy and basically to die for. Don’t forgo the burger sauce, no matter what your previous experiences with “special sauce” have taught you.

Our husbands were more daring, hers ordering the BBQ burger, smothered in sauce and haystack fries, and mine ordering the Frenchie with—get this—ham and brie. Bye bye American cheese; my husband may never order you on a burger again!

Between us, we shared two gargantuan baskets of fries (one regular, one sweet potato, natch) and couldn’t quite polish them off. I also had a chocolate malt, which was awesome, and induced Hannah and her beau to order milkshakes to go.

Make an excuse. Park Burger is an awesome stop.
