Have you ever noticed how some things are simply made to go together? Since the beginning of time people have been pairing items together, but more importantly they have been pairing food items together. It seems that we have been searching for the perfect complimentary sets of flavors for generations.

Through the years, we have come to identify spaghetti and meatballs, peanut butter and jelly, biscuits and gravy, milk and cookies, chicken and dumplings. Chefs are still testing and creating their perfect pairs.

Arugula Bar e Ristorante is putting their pairing skills to the test for Le Marche Wine Dinner on Jan. 26. They will delicately pair decadent entrées with Azienda Agricola Santa Barbara wine.

Bacco Importers, Antonio Race, will be explaining the wine pairings and the knowledge he has gained while importing wine throughout the years.

The evening’s menu has been intricately crafted to highlight tastes between wine and entrée.

The courses include guanaciale, shrimp ravioli, duck breast and elk. As winter has settled in across Colorado, the local ingredients in this dinner are somewhat limited; however, the chef is using local cellared root vegetables and a couple local meats within this divine dinner creation.

The cost is $40 per person and an additional $25 per person for the wine pairings; this cost does not include tax or tip.

It is going to be an evening of pairing, so go taste the unique and bold flavors.

Reservations are required; call Arugula at 303-443-5100.
