Frasca opened its third restaurant, called Caffe, in the space between its original location and Pizzeria Locale. …Piece, Love and Chocolates, a new gourmet chocolate and pastry shop, opened in Boulder at 850 Pearl St. …Ozo Coffee opened a new location at 1015 Pearl St., Boulder. …Chef Chris Cina opened Hideaway Steakhouse at 2345 W. 112 Ave., Westminster, calling the concept a “chef-driven” steakhouse. …POSH, 15th and Pearl in Boulder, opened as a combination painting studio and wine bar—the refreshments are for artists only. …Nathan Miller, former pastry chef at The Kitchen, has teamed up with Shannon Aten with the Tasterie Truck. Set to launch in April the truck will offer individual-sized desserts, cookies, cupcakes and Miller’s signature line of chocolates. …New Orleans pizza chain Naked Pizza is slated to open a location at 1629 28th Street, Boulder, this month. …Cured cheese shop is set to open around the end of April at 1825 E. Pearl St., Boulder, offering American artisanal cheeses, boutique wines, bread, cured meats, olive oils, local produce, coffee and pre-made sandwiches. …Basta Mobile, a truck-based version of Pizzeria Basta, should hit streets up and down the Front Range in May. …Enrique Socarras of Denver’s Cuba Cuba hopes to open a casual lunch-version of the restaurant in Boulder in May. …Kasbah in Lafayette is moving to Louisville. …The Chili Hut in Louisville lost its lease and is having a clearance sale. At press time, they were accepting names for a list to let patrons know their next move.

Local Table Tours offered its first Coffee and Pastry tour in downtown Boulder. The tours will take place every Friday. Also added to its lineup: Thirsty Thursdays, which will take patrons on a cocktail tour of downtown Boulder. …Gindi Café in Boulder has started making its own syrups to flavor drinks from its in-house espresso bar. …Mike O’Shay’s in Longmont celebrated 30 years. It’s the longest-running independently owned restaurant in Longmont. …The Kitchen in Boulder released a new wine list in March. All of its wines now come from grapes farmed sustainably, organically and biodynamically grown. …Denver Restaurant Week could be extended to two weeks divided between winter and summer. …Secret supper club HUSH launched a new pop-up restaurant venture called NOMAD.

Trends to Watch

Frozen yogurt is hitting Boulder hard: Maiberry and Smooch on or near the Pearl Street Mall, Ripple Pure Frozen Yogurt at 30th and Canyon, Aspen Leaf Yogurt at Table Mesa and Broadway, and Spooners on the 29th Street Mall slated to open soon. West Coast soft-frozen yogurt franchise Golden Spoon opened its first North Metro location in Broomfield.
