Openings/Closings

The 503 International Café at 503 South Public Road, Lafayette, opened in July as well as Slice’s Pizza and Subs at 149 Briggs St., Ste. 105., in Erie. /The Kitchen announced it’ll open a Denver location. /RollinGreens, a Boulder food truck, reopened its truck after more than three decades. Find it at RollinGreens.com. /Walnut Café put the brakes on its food truck, Walnut A-Go-Go. As a positive side note, the restaurant group is prepping to open up Super Mini Walnut Café at 95th and Arapahoe in Lafayette in August. /The Snarf’s University Hill location closed in July because of a dramatic dip in sales. /Boulder sports hub The Lazy Dog opened a second location in Erie’s Village at Vista Shopping Center. /This September, popular Denver breakfast stop, Snooze, will make its Boulder debut at 1617 Pearl St. /The people behind Rose’s Hot Dawgs, a hot dog stand in Longmont that closed in 2002, are making a comeback with Celestial Dawgs, open outside of Warren Appliance on Main Street, Tuesdays through Saturdays. /Georgia Boys BBQ has set up shop in a 110-year-old house at 237 Collyer St., Longmont. /Udi’s is now sporting pita bread at its brand new Pickled Lemon, which serves Middle Eastern food on The Hill, Boulder. /The movie-themed Louisville Rex opened at 817 Main St. /The barbecue masters behind Waterloo opened Lulu’s in downtown Louisville at 701 B Main St. /Riffs Urban Fare, a food bar concept, will open in the former Pearl Street Mall location of the BookEnd Café.

The Greenbriar Inn, near Lefthand Canyon on the Foothills Highway, is updating its traditional vibe with renovations and is expected to be complete in August. /The Healthy Gourmet’s new app The Healthy Gourmet: Inspired Eats features gluten-free, dairy-free and vegetarian options in addition to other recipes. It’s available the iTunes store for $2.99.

The pork chops with risotto and pesto at the brand-spanking-new 503 International Café in Lafayette, a still sparsely decorated space that serves up some tasty fare. /Café Aion’s house-cured salumi and cheese plate with house-pickled onions and mustard. /A cocktail with Spring44 vodka, cucumber, black pepper, Serrano peppers and citrus at Salt the Bistro served up during the new spirit’s unveiling party. /The crunchy, salty, impressively addictive fried kale chips at The Kitchen [Next Door].

Events

Chefs Up Front, which brings together chefs like Radek Cerny, Matthew Jensen and Oak at 14th’s Steven Redzikowski among others for one insanely memorable dinner to benefit anti-hunger efforts in Boulder County, will take place Sept. 25. Information and tickets at boulderchefsupfront.com. /A Taste of Colorado will be held in the Civic Center Park in Denver, Sept. 2–5. atasteofcolorado.com. /The Pinyon introduced its Backwards Man foraging dinner series, which will take place each Wednesday and will include wild ingredients from the Colorado wilderness.
