It’s Art

Lafayette’s Art Night Out is the third Friday of the month from May through September, ending the 2012 season on Sept. 21 with a fantastic night of entertainment. Check out the band Girls on Top, peruse the art walk or beer garden, take the kids to the face painting booths or children’s activities, or just enjoy a beautiful night out. Where else can you catch 40 artists working in their own creative environments? Catch the Longmont Studio Tour to see the artists who make their homes in Longmont. The self-guided tour takes revelers through the spaces of different artists: watch them in action, talk to them about their work and get inspired… maybe even purchase an original piece for your collection. Out of Left Field

Leftapalooza is the perfect way to enjoy a full day’s worth of entertainment while supporting a worthy cause. Presented by Left Hand Brewing, Leftapalooza features the Mile High Tribute Band Competition, with U2, The Grateful Dead, Rush, Van Halen, Steely Dan, Led Zeppelin and B-52s tribute bands on tap. For another $5, partake in the Leftapalooza Chili Fest, featuring Colorado’s best chili cooks. Proceeds benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Visit lefthandbrewing.com for tickets and details.

Matisyahu first took the nation by storm in 2005 and has brought his unique style of Hasidic reggae/rock ever since. On his new album, Spark Seeker, Matisyahu collaborates with the biggest names in music, including Nicki Minaj, Travis Barker and Ke$ha. The result is an exciting studio album that explores Matisyahu’s musical tastes and celebrates finding inspiration wherever it may lie.
