BoCo moms fashion show

Roll Up, Roll Up

It’s carnival time at Yellow Scene as we celebrate our 15th anniversary, and that means a gloriously madcap-meets mainstream theme for our annual fashion shoot. Think high street with a burlesque bent. Catwalk meets masquerade. Vogue meets steampunk. We’re not looking to shock you with the sort of costume you’d see on a reality TV show, but rather have a little fun and make you smile. “Carnival” is our mild theme, not a costume pre-requisite.

With all of that in mind, we gathered 15 of Boulder County’s finest—beautiful women, all moms, between the ages of 30 and 60—to model the wonderful clothes at Alive Studios in North Boulder.

These aren’t necessarily professional models, they are women just like many of you out there. As you can see though, BoCo’s “regular” women are anything but ordinary. We’re very lucky out here.

So dive in—take some ideas from the outfits and visit the stores that kindly donated them—Rockin’ Robins in Niwot, The Ritz, Pittaya, Weekends and Boulder Bazaar in Boulder, and Lifestyle Consignment and Apricot Lane in Longmont—and allow yourself to let loose. The carnival isn’t just for a few weeks of the year—you can carry it with you always.

    What a disaster!
I don’t know how they did it. But the writer(s), stylist and the photographer(s) managed take 15 of Boulder County’s “beautiful women, all moms, between the ages of 30 – 60” make look them dowdy, frumpy and even a tad ridiculous and tell us exactly nothing — aside from their names — about them.
You owe those “beautiful women” a public apology.
