***PRESS RELEASE**

BOULDER COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY

We are pleased to announce another “Fresh Start” event.  The “Fresh Start” program is designed to give individuals with active warrants stemming from non-violent, low-level misdemeanor or traffic cases an opportunity to resolve their warrants and move toward a resolution in their case.

The next “Fresh Start” event will be held at the Boulder County Combined Court – Longmont, 1035 Kimbark Street, Longmont, 80501 on Saturday, November 2, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. At that time, individuals with warrants in qualifying cases can speak with a representative from the District Attorney’s Office to either resolve the case or set the case for a new court date. Regardless of the outcome on that day, the warrant for the individuals’ arrest will be vacated if they appear for court on Saturday, November 2, 2019.

In April, the first “Fresh Start” event was held at the courthouse in downtown Boulder.  It is believed to have been the first such event in the State of Colorado.  Over thirty (30) warrants were resolved that day.  As promised, no one that came to the courthouse that day was arrested on a warrant.  The November event will also have volunteers, attorneys from the Boulder County Criminal Defense Bar, and immigration attorneys to help answer questions. The event does not require an appointment to be made in advance.

This program is a great collaborative effort between the Boulder DA’s Office, the defense bar, judges, and the Sheriff’s Office.  I am grateful for all the teamwork that goes into this effort.

Please see attached for flyers and more information.  We appreciate your help in sharing the flyers with your networks and community members.
