Calling all Bloody Mary lovers!
COVID-19 might have put lots of events on hold, but The Bloody Mary Festival is in its eighth year and can’t stop, won’t stop.
Come together on March 20, 2021 at 1PM EST for the virtual Bloody Mary Festival Spring Edition. We love Spring, don’t you? You and thousands of Bloody Mary lovers and experts from all around the country will be joined together to drink and vote for the best Bloody Mary (in the kit you receive). You will have the opportunity to purchase an at-home Bloody Mary kit and participate from the comfort of your own kitchen. The event will also be recorded so you can get your drink on at your convenience.
If that catches your attention and interests you, you can purchase your tickets right now on the festival’s website. Do it. We vote yes.
The purchase of a ticket will include Bloody Mary’s for not one, but two people, 12 cocktails, delivered right to your front door step. Each box that you purchase will include the following:
- Six artisanal Bloody Mary mixes (each enough for 2 people); shipping will be included; vodka is not
- Bloody Mary Rim Salt
- 1 Bloody Mary Tote Bag
- 1 Official Festival enamel pin
- Temporary tattoos
- Admission to the virtual Festival on Saturday, March 20, 2021
Curious to see what some participating Bloody Mary mixes are? Well, listen up.
Bloody Mary Participants
- Brewt’s Bloody Mary (MI)
- Back Pocket Provisions (VA)
- Devil Dave’s Bloody Mary Seasonings (DE)
- Nan’s Naughty & Nice (WI)
- Toma Bloody Mary (NY)
- Pittsburgh Pickle Company (PA)
First up, we have Back Pocket Provisions. This is based in Richmond, VA and their mission is to, “make life more delicious, healthy, honest, and fun by helping small farms succeed.” Their mix includes, “fresh tomato juice sourced from a small farm and mixed with horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne pepper. Spicy, but not too spicy, with a bright and briny flavor.” Back Pocket Provisions works, “with farmers across Virginia to turn delicious-but-ugly fruits and vegetables into the best Bloody Mary mix anywhere. It’s one way [they] support a local food system that’s better for farmers, consumers, and communities.”

Next up we have Brewt’s Bloody Mary Mix. These are handcrafted in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Their mission is to, “create all natural, handcrafted, premium food and beverage products.” Brewt’s Signature Mix is a “garden fresh Bloody Mary cocktail mixer featuring organic tomato juice, freshly squeezed citrus, and Brewt’s Jalapeno Brine”.
Another mix included in the home kit is Brewt’s Signature Mix from Brewt’s in Grand Rapids, MI. Brewt’s was named after a chihuahua named Brewtus, featured in their logo, and their Bloody Mary mixes are100 percent natural and handcrafted. Their Bloody Mary mixes are available in stores across the Midwest as well as online.
Then we have Devil Dave’s from Delaware which makes a Bloody Mary seasoning for the at-home kit that works with any tomato juice or clamato. Devil Dave’s, “took all the wet and dry components you would put in a classic Bloody and either dehydrated them, granulated or milled them,” making this Bloody Mary an easy one to make on the go. Their seasoning mixes boast the same great flavor as a traditional Bloody Mary while allowing you to sample different juices with ease.
Nan’s Naughty and Nice is located in Wisconsin and was created when Nan made the best of a bummer crop of tomatoes and ended up with a Bloody Mary mix. Nan’s mixes can also be used as the base of a variety of recipes, which is nice, or with vodka, which is naughty. Nan’s Naughty and Nice has one mix that is sold in different quantities on their website.
Last in the home kit, but not least, is Toma Bloody Mary from New York. At Toma Bloody Mary it is believed that the Bloody Mary itself needs to be great, not just the garnishes. They have won a handful of Sip Awards, both for their original and for their original and horseradish mixes. Unfortunately for us Coloradoans, Toma bloody mary products are currently only available in person on the East Coast, but they can be purchased online.
During the event you will be able to drink your Bloody Mary’s along with other Bloody Mary lovers from all over the country. After this we will be having the world’s largest bloody mary toast that you will be able to participate in.
Throughout this event, attendees will get to hear from the makers behind each Bloody Mary mix.
At the event there will be a panel of judges who will be tasting the Bloody Mary’s alongside the attendees. Along with the judges, the viewers will also get the opportunity to taste the bloody marys and then vote for their favorite one to win the People’s Choice Award.
Evan Weiss, founder of The Bloody Mary Festival, said, “We’ve scoured the country in search of the best small batch Bloody Mary mixes, these hard-to-find mixes use fresh ingredients. We’re happy to support these small local businesses and to get their products in the hands of consumers who, otherwise, would have a difficult time finding them.”’
The ticket price is $89.00, which includes the Bloody Mary box and shipping and admission to the virtual event. Tickets to the virtual event can be purchased on The Bloody Mary Festival website. The only other thing you need to worry about is deciding if you want them virgin or if you need to pick up some vodka. You can always use your favorite, or you can try this year’s official vodka sponsor, Crater Lake Spirits. They are a small batch distillery in Bend, OR, but you can purchase their product here in Colorado in Thornton, Firestone, Glenwood Springs, Colorado Springs, or Castle Rock.
In 2019, The Bloody Mary Festival was nominated as a Top 10 Speciality Food Festival by USA today, so we think that it is in your best interest to purchase a ticket and participate in this amazing festival! This event is open to all residents in the United States, except for Hawaii and Alaska. Sorry, fam.
The Bloody Mary Festival is undoubtedly going to be bloody brilliant.
