Celebrating Juneteenth: A Story of Freedom
ECAACE and NAACP Boulder County Branch invites you to our first inaugural Boulder County Juneteenth Celebration. Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, is an important part of American history as it commemorated the official end of slavery on June 19, 1865. Join us for our Juneteenth presentation as we celebrate Freedom, acknowledge local community members in the fight for equity and justice, and pay special tribute to Ms. Opal Lee, “The 94 years old Grandmother of Juneteenth”!
This program is a worldwide endeavor and is in collaboration with various local community members and organizations, as well as participants from multiple municipalities within Boulder County. Making Black history accessible in our communities is one of the first steps in acknowledging and celebrating African American Culture. This event will be held virtually, with subtitles for the hearing impaired. This year’s production will premiere on the ECAACE YouTube channel June 19, 2021, at 10:00AM mountain standard time and is free to the public.
Attendees should register on Eventbrite for access to the program.
