Lafayette’s Annual MLK, Jr. March for Peace will be on Monday, Jan. 17, 2022.

Every year, the City of Lafayette honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a march and an event organized by the Lafayette Youth Advisory Commission.

Planned in conjunction with the Federal King Holiday and modified to comply with public health guidelines, this year’s event will feature a car parade and drive-in program.

Car Parade 1:00 pm – Free and family-friendly, the event will commence with a car parade, departing Flatirons Community Church parking lot (on the northwest corner of South Public and South Boulder Rd) at 1pm. Community members are encouraged to decorate their cars and convene between 12:45-12:55pm. The parade will subsequently travel north on Public, west on Emma, south on Caria and Centaur Village Dr., ultimately concluding at Centaurus High School (10300 South Boulder Road), where a “drive-in” program will begin at approximately 1:30pm.

Drive-in Celebration, Centaurus High School 1:30pm

Event t-shirts and children’s craft kits will be distributed to community members at the onset of the program (while supplies last). The event concludes 3pm.
